Robert Rettby, from Neuchâtel, Switzerland, was elected to serve as third international vice president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 108th international convention held in Hong Kong, China, from July 2 through July 7, 2026.

Vice President Rettby has a master’s degree in civil engineering and was CEO and director of a group of family-owned construction companies. He has now retired from the company but is still professionally active as a consultant in the fields of water treatment and industrial safety.

A member of the Neuchâtel Lions Club since 1992, he served as a director of Lions Clubs International from 2013 to 2015, and board appointee from 2018 to 2019.

Vice President Rettby has held many other offices within the association, including zone and region chairperson, district secretary, district governor and council chairperson. He has also been chairperson and member  of several national and international committees, including LCI representative to UNICEF, Europa Forum president, Centennial Action Committee co-chairperson, GATCA leader, Campaign 100 vice-chairperson, LCIF CA leader, DGE Seminar group leader, certified instructor and institute faculty member, as well as a Coordinating Lion.

In recognition of his service to the association, Vice President Rettby has received numerous awards including 12 International President’s Medals, multiple President’s Certificates of Appreciation, the Ambassador of Good Will award and the International Director Recognition Award. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, distinct level.

In addition to his Lion activities, he has been active in several professional and community organizations, circles and sports clubs.

Vice President Rettby and his wife, Catherine, have two sons and four grandchildren.
